Important Information:
Homework Policy
A homework packet will be sent home on Mondays (or the first day of the week if we are off on a Monday). All homework will be due on the following Monday (or the first day of the week if we are off on a Monday). Cluster teachers will be giving out homework on Fridays.
We will start sending home books from our library in a “Book Baggie.” Each child will be able to select 2 books on his/her reading level and 1 book of his/her choice. Please send the “Book Baggie” back and forth to school each day. We will collect books on Mondays and the children will be able to select new books.
If a child has excessive missing homework, he/she will not be eligible for an award. Each teacher tracks the homework and submits records to Ms. Scamardella monthly.

Uniform Policy
Children must wear the school uniform daily. The uniform is a light blue top and dark blue bottoms. Sweaters must be blue!
Family Reading Program
After the Book of the Month is read aloud in the classroom, it will be sent home with a student. Please read the book with your child and then both you and your child will make a notation in the Family Reading Notebook about the book. Make sure to return the book and notebook to school the following day so that it may be passed along to another student.
Positive Reinforcement
Our classroom is an environment that focuses on positive reinforcement. Your child is frequently given verbal praise throughout the day. He/she will have numerous opportunities to gain stickers and rewards for acting like a “Dolphin” and putting forth his/her best effort.
Birthday Treats
As stated in the family handbook, the only two things we will be having as birthday treats are cupcakes and munchkins. Please let me know 1 week in advance if you would like to send in treats for your child’s birthday. This will allow us time to inform any parents of children with allergies so they can have a special treat, too. Peanut- Free snacks only.
Ice Cream Money
If your child would like to purchase ice cream at lunch, he/she must bring in $1 in his/her folder. Please put it in a labeled envelope. Teachers and staff are not responsible for any lost money.
